Hi Sweetheart... the most magnificent things just happen, we feel so alive, the joys of having the Spirit of God enter... well this is just so high, loving others with new found compassions. Being able to read the Word of God, and having this 'lite" up before you, with insights into the very heart of God. Something so awesome as the love in you grows and you have the mind of Christ, feeling His presence as close as you want Him to be... Being able to look at all other with new levels and waves of love. You know Birdie, God gives us all who ask of Him the free gift of Salvation. What we do hence with it is our decision. We can grow in this or not... the gift is ours... I am challenged in many areas of my life, and I love how the grace of God works, in me and in others as I take on more authority. The more we take on the more is given. The more we access God's Spirit the more is revealed concerning His mysteries... So I guess for me, seeing how I love better, and how I look to God most often for the answers within... I actually search for God... whereas before, I didn't....I find myself more and more often, asking... "God what would you say, do, what would you have me do?"" Kinda helps in the rearranging of my mountains, and certainly helps me know a better way of helping others... And the Spirit guides us... the more I surrender there, the closer the walk!

Everything !

We receive a new life ~ a new life in Christ. A new creation as the bible tells us.
The heart is new when we truly accept Him.
For me personally; i found the love i had for my family grew deeper ~ i didn't think i could love them any more than i did ~ but Christ's love operating thru me gives me a deeper understanding of compassion for my family and for other people i meet. I can pray for those i don't even know, or haven't even met :) The Holy Spirit/Ghost leads me to pray and intercede for people whose faces i haven't even seen :)

And the wonderful thing is i now have answers to help people, and the power within to make a difference in peoples lives, and i thank God for these changes He continues to make in me.

I now know God has a plan for my life, and He continues to work it out daily, and i look to Him to enable me to fulfil that plan. I have a destiny ~ and i find that so exciting ~ God is *amazing* isn't He!

EVERYTHING!!! The joy is just so overwhelming. No matter what situation you may be in, you still have the joy of Jesus in you. It's like your eyes are opened up. The things you once did that weren't considered bad ( i.e. sexual sin, drinking, smoking ) you now see the bad in it. It's like you were blind and now you see the light. You also become more tolerant of people and don't want to retaliate when someone does something negative to you. I hope your experiencing or one day experience what I'm talking about.

The holy spirit is in me now, I feel him when i pray, when I hear a good homily at work, I even feel his repulsion when I watch a scary movie


As for me (Chad), this is exactly what happened to me. I began to hate the sin I use to love, I get sick when I hear people curse God and Jesus aloud (Hollywood does it all the time- ALL THE TIME), I want to learn more about the Holy Trinity, so I get more into the Word and I speak with Him more often (nearly all the time now), I love people more genuinely and I despise hatred, injustice and falsehood (all sin) very deeply and profoundly now where before it was just a way of life for most including myself. There is a deep-rooted change, and it's always reaching higher, growing me- seeking a better and better man within me each and every day! I love the change in me and look forward to more of God's changes within me.

You truly MUST consider... if you're NOT changing... are you truly born again? Don't be fooled by the world or false doctrine... if you are not changing for the better and finding the things of the world to literally irritate you beyond belief, you very well may be in danger spiritually. If you don't thirst and hunger for the things of God and Christ, you need to reconsider your place in God's kingdom... you may not currently HAVE one!

Sometimes I just FLAT OUT forget to be still! This devotional was just what I needed for current events. Wait on God's timing. Be still and know... a beloved sister came at me with a similar message recently, but she went about it all wrong, so God took over and sent me this. May it help you as well. There is a time and season for everything... never be quiet about the gospel- always teach and preach the word of God- BUT... when someone just needs you to be there and listen... sometimes a response simply is not warranted! Thank you Jesus for this very needed reminder!


Being the Stillness

"Then they sat down on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights with no one speaking a word to him, for they saw that his pain was very great."
Job 2:13 (NASB)

Devotion:
I have sought comfort in the book of Job many times in my life. After I buried my infant son, I asked, "Why?" God reminded me that when Job asked the same question His answer was, "Who?"

While laying on a hospital bed knowing for certain I would lose the twins I had carried only a few precious months, God reminded me how in the midst of Job's suffering, God came. And in the whirlwind He answered. Not right away, not in Job's time, but in God's time - the perfect time when Job's heart could take in the words of healing.

In the years following those dark events, I trained in theology, counseling and psychology. I was on a quest to understand my brokenness, and that of others. I'm still on that quest, though my formal training is behind me.

One evening, I was in conversation with a man who was going through a divorce and was in obvious pain. He spoke of his daughter, and how his hopes for the future had been destroyed. When he finished speaking I sat in silence, knowing I had no great words to offer. Spent from telling his story, he too sat quietly.

Our silence stretched into minutes. Then, the man began to cry. I sat with him, keeping his tears company, and still said nothing. More minutes passed, and the man said, "That's the first time I've cried since this whole mess started." Then he said something surprising: "You've helped me so much. Thank you."

The silence had changed something for him. From my perspective, the silence was a result of my limitations as a counselor - I was empty handed. But it became clear to me there was something powerful at work. I remembered how Job's friends sat in silence with him for seven days and nights. With that in mind, I began to pay close attention to silence. I found that by being quiet, I could better understand my thoughts, fears, hopes, and desires. And in my long silences I was able to sense God's presence and hear His voice. When I sat with the man going through a divorce I listened to him without interruption. Then, by saying nothing, I helped him listen to what God had to say to him.

There are astounding lessons to be learned from the act of listening. I have learned that listening is an act of love. It is not passive; it is intentional, engaging with the heart and mind of another person. To listen you must turn off all outside distractions; say "no" to the world rushing by you. A sacred act of deliberate silence and meaningful pause, listening helps people clear a space in their life, heart, and mind in order to simply "be." Our listening is an important gift. I am learning to make it my first response. Through listening I want to provide the stillness God speaks into.

Dear Lord, bring me into a deeper silence before You, that I may hear Your voice, and in hearing, believe, and in believing, listen to the heart of others. When people hurt Lord, let me first offer them my listening, not my advice. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Check Your Line of Sight!

When you're not seeing eye to eye with God... it's not God's eyes you're looking at. Don't forget, God is God. What you think is right may very well be wrong in His eyes, and it's His eyes you want to be in line with. He know the past, present and future. He and only He knows what is best for your future- so if you don't see eye to eye with Him, it's time to readjust your sight to line up with His!

Deer Roping (not to be confused with calf roping)

This is an actual letter from someone who farms, writes well, and tried this!

I had this idea that I was going to rope a deer, put it in a stall, feed it up on corn for a couple of weeks, then kill it and eat it.

The first step in this adventure was getting a deer. I figured that, since they congregate at my cattle feeder and do not seem to have much fear of me when we are there (a bold one will sometimes come right up and sniff the bags of feed while I am in the back of the truck not 4 feet away), it should not be difficult to rope one, get up to it and toss a bag over its head (to calm it down) then hog tie it and transport it home.

I filled the cattle feeder then hid down at the end with my rope. The cattle, having seen the roping thing before, stayed well back. They were not having any of it.

After about 20 minutes, my deer showed up--- 3 of them. I picked out a likely looking one, stepped out from the end of the feeder, and threw my rope. The deer just stood there and stared at me. I wrapped the rope around my waist and twisted the end so I would have a good hold. The deer still just stood there and stared at me, but you could tell it was mildly concerned about the whole rope situation. I took a step towards it…it took a step away. I put a little tension on the rope and then received an education.

The first thing I learned is that, while a deer may just stand there looking at you funny while you rope it, they are spurred to action when you start pulling on that rope.

That deer EXPLODED.

The second thing I learned is that pound for pound, a deer is a LOT stronger than a cow or a colt. A cow or colt in that weight range I could fight down with a rope and with some dignity.

A deer---no chance.

That thing ran and bucked and twisted and pulled. There was no controlling it and certainly no getting close to it. As it jerked me off my feet and started dragging me across the ground, it occurred to me that having a deer on a rope was not as good an idea as I had originally imagined.

The only up side is that they do not have as much stamina as many other animals. A brief 10 minutes later, it was tired and not nearly as quick to jerk me off my feet and drag me when I managed to get up. It took me a few minutes to realize this, since I was mostly blinded by the blood flowing out of the big gash in my head. At that point, I had lost my taste for corn-fed venison. I just wanted to get that devil creature off the end of that rope.

I figured if I just let it go with the rope hanging around its neck, it would likely die slow and painfully somewhere. At that time, there was no love at all between me and that deer. At that moment, I hated the thing, and I would venture a guess that the feeling was mutual.

Despite the gash in my head and the several large knots where I cleverly arrested the deer’s momentum by bracing my head against several large rocks as it dragged me across the ground, I could still think clearly enough to recognize that there was a small chance that I shared some tiny amount of responsibility for the situation we were in, so I didn’t want the deer to have to suffer a slow death, so I managed to get it lined back up between my truck and the feeder—a little trap I had set before hand…kind of like a squeeze chute.

I got it back in there and I started moving up so I could get my rope.

Did you know that deer bite? They do! I never in a million years would have thought that a deer would bite somebody, so I was very surprised when I reached up there to grab that rope and the deer grabbed hold of my wrist. Now, when a deer bites you, it is not like being bit by a horse where they just bite you and then let go. A deer bites you and shakes its head—almost like a pit bull. They bite HARD and it hurts.

The proper thing to do when a deer bites you is probably freeze and draw back slowly. I tried screaming and shaking instead. My method was ineffective. It seems like the deer was biting and shaking for several minutes, but it was likely several seconds.

I, being smarter than a deer (though you may be questioning that claim by now), tricked it. While I kept it busy tearing the tendons out of my right arm, I reached up with my left hand and pulled that rope loose. That was when I got my final lesson in deer behavior for the day.

Deer will strike at you with their front feet. They rear right up on their back feet and strike right about the head and shoulder level, and their hooves are surprisingly sharp. I learned a long time ago that, when an animal—like a horse—strikes at you with their hooves and you can’t get away easily, the best thing to do is try to make a loud noise and make an aggressive move towards the animal. This will usually cause them to back down a bit so you can escape.

This was not a horse. This was a deer, so obviously, such trickery would not work. In the course of a millisecond, I devised a different strategy.

I screamed like a woman and tried to turn and run.

Now, when a deer paws at you and knocks you down, it does not immediately leave. I suspect it does not recognize that the danger has passed. What they do instead is paw your back and jump up and down on you while you are lying there crying like a little girl and covering your head. I finally managed to crawl under the truck and the deer went away.

So now I know why when people go deer hunting they bring a rifle with a scope to sort of even the odds.

All these events are true so help me God….

Can You Lose Your Salvation? A bible study and work of personal opinion

2nd Timothy 2: "14 Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth (Bible). 16 Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. 17 Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18 who have wandered away from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some. 19Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: 'The Lord knows those who are his,' and, 'Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.' "

"ONCE SAVED, ALWAYS SAVED"?

I have come to realize that people have really begun to focus wayyyy too much on this questionable doctrine as well as the one of "when" Jesus will be returning... and I have come up with a comfortable response:

"Why?" Why ask? Why has this become the main focus of topic as of late? Are we not supposed to forget the past, focus on the present and worry not about the future? If we are living our lives according to the will of the Father, then why are we concerned about losing our salvation in the first place?

I believe the devil is working overtime to misdirect our attention from what really matters- living rich, righteous and God-honoring lives while spreading the truth of Christ's gift of salvation to others whom do not even have the gift of salvation at all.

If you are living your life according to the doctrine of "once saved, always saved" then you stand a chance of not living THE LIFE at all and you are not going to be much use to anyone else. You WON'T read your Bible... you WON'T keep in prayer, and you WON'T share the gift YOU have been freely given. Why should you... you're covered. You can go on about your daily life free of all worries and have no need to deal with the stresses and condemnations that come from those you would attempt to share this wonderful gift with. And since you're saved and therefore permanently riding the free train on the Heaven Homebound Express, why should you worry about your sins and your lifestyle at all. Again... you're good. Party On!

Careful... there is a lot at stake here! In fact EVERYTHING is at stake here! Do you really want to mess around and put all your faith in just a couple of scriptures in the Word that just may be being misinterpreted when so many other scriptures say LIVE RIGHTEOUSLY OR ELSE? Obey God's commandments or else.

Folks... stop letting others dictate your faith for you. Stop trusting in MAN to be the supplier of your knowledge and wisdom of Our Beloved Heavenly Father. As I have spent my year studying the Word, one message remains clear throughout- get saved by the blood of Christ, then obey His commandments. Do NOT be in the world- do NOT look like the world- do NOT love the world and its sin. CLEAR. Clarity at its best. So why do so many Christians look just like the world?

Brothers and sisters.... do not compromise the truth... do not compromise your salvation. Jesus came to save us from our sins and He has made it clear... "If you love me, obey my commandments!" (John 14:15). If you are choosing to remain in sin, you don't love Christ. If you don't love Christ... how can you be saved? Stop sinning. You are the ambassaders of the almighty God. STOP BALTANTLY SINNING!

Let God, through the blood of Christ, by the guidance of the Holy Spirit of Truth our Lord has given unto all who be saved lead you into a solid foundation of faith that needs NOT ask "Can I Lose My Salvation?"

Your salvation should NEVER be in danger of being lost. If you have to question it- you are probably not saved at all!

Creation VS Evolution ... What's all the bickering about anyway?

Here's another little ditty about Creation (see archives for previous post under same name!) This was in response to a question I came across online duriong Bible study...

I would love to offer up two visual resources for you:

"Perfect Planet" and "God of Wonders". These two wonderful videos simply present the facts that ANYONE can see in life and in the universe for themselves, using simple common sense and truths, historical facts and YES science. Watch these videos and come to your own conclusions about the truth of Creation... this wonderful masterpiece that Yahweh the Author and Creator lovingly molded with His own hands. You don't have to stick your head in the sand to be a Christian. In fact, most people against intelligent design stick THEIR heads in the sand to deny it. Facts are facts and truth is truth. Seek the truth for yourselves- stop letting others dictate it for you.

When Healing Never Comes

Devotion:
Today she is 16. A newly licensed driver, varsity cheerleader, confident, strong, funny, and beautiful, inside and out.

Then she was 13. Sitting in a doctor's office, between tears and trembling, we heard these words: "scoliosis," "a curvature of the spine," "back brace," " 23 out of 24 hours a day," " two years."

Words cannot explain life those next weeks and months as she faithfully wore her brace ... a brace that deformed her body, caused sleepless nights filled with pain and sorrow, and required her to quit something she loved: competitive cheerleading.

Questions plagued her heart. Why me, God? What did I do, God?

Questions plagued my mind. Why her, God? What did I fail to do? Please take this from her and give it to me, Lord...PLEASE!!

I cried out for healing. We obeyed Scripture. Elders of the church prayed over her. I laid hands on her and anointed her with oil. Hundreds of women prayed for her healing.

Healing never came.

Many nights she lay in my bed, locked in her brace, sobbing, asking, "Why me, Mom?" I lay next to her, tears rolling down my cheeks, exhausted, feeling helpless, wondering how we would make it to the other side of this.

Healing never came.

Her back worsened despite the brace, so we tried alternative methods.

Healing never came.

Oh, for a time, they kept her curve at bay—until six months ago. Her curve and the pain resulting from it had increased with astounding speed since then, until it reached the point that we had to face the reality of surgery. A surgery that requires this precious child of mine to put her life on hold. A surgery that means rods and screws will line her spine from top to bottom. A surgery that requires months and months of rehabilitation. A surgery that prevents her from ever tumbling again.

Healing never came ... or has it?

At first glance I'd say "no" because the Lord did not heal in the way I so specifically and faithfully prayed.

But, when I look at the promised result - it will straighten her spine and allow her to live pain free - I must say, "yes" healing is coming, just not in the way I hoped and prayed.

The passion of my heart, the call on my life, is to point others to find answers to their struggles, great and small, in the Word of God. So what do I say to myself as I kneel before the Lord? I allow the tears to come. I shake my fist, asking why has it had to come to this? I ask why did He not choose MY way?

And then, I surrender.

I take my own advice.

I go to His Word. His Word that speaks sweetly to me:

"Wendy, trust Me with all your heart. Do not lean on the knowledge of chiropractors, physical therapists, and others. Do not lean on your fears. Acknowledge Me, Wendy. My Name. My Power. My Strength. My Love. I promised to direct your path, and I have. This is the path I have led you to follow. Trust Me." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

"Wendy, I do not give you a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7)

"Wendy, remember My ways are higher than your ways, My thoughts higher than yours...TRUST ME with her because I have a plan and I love her more than you will ever know." (Isaiah 55:8)

I wish I could tell you today that I am not afraid. But I would be lying. I am afraid. I am afraid of the day they will roll her away to cut into her spine and insert foreign objects into her body. But I can tell you that I trust my God, and I ask Him daily to help me with my unbelief.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word. Thank You that it is TRUTH. Father, for every woman whose heart aligns with mine today, direct us to Your Word. Speak truth into our circumstances. Help us with our unbelief. Help us take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Fill our hearts and minds with whatever is lovely, true, pure, excellent, and praiseworthy. Father cover us with Your wings. Help us to fully trust in You. I ask this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Application Steps:
If you have a struggle, take a few minutes today, go to God's Word, and ask Him to speak into your circumstances. Note the verses to which He draws you and personalize them as I did above. Pray them every day this week and watch what God will do.

Reflections:
Read the following verses and reflect on what they speak to your heart: Hebrews 4:16, Romans 10:17, and Hebrews 12:2.

Hallowmas... for a dear brother...

A beloved friend and brother in Christ put me on the spot when I encouraged people to change their celebration of Halloween into a celebration of "Hallowmas" as an alternative to the pagan holiday (Thanks bro- don't ever hesitate to test everything and everybody... I receive it with love!). We both mean well and our intentions are pure... from the heart. Here is another "point-of-view" I just discovered on a wonderful Bible-based faith site that simply confirms where I was going with the whole Hallowmas thing, and the definition of Hallowmas according to our American dictionary. Let there be no ill-will among us, amen!

The self-absorbed thinking conveyed in the line, "Well, me and Jesus got our own thing goin'," may have worked for Tom T. Hall's now passe American country song, but it is hardly the defining characteristic of true believers. Being willing to stand alone against error is one thing, but individualism in general is nowhere commended in Scripture. Such thinking flies smack in the face of God's emphasis on building local communities of believers who are universally united in Christ around the true gospel.

Blind spots, flaws and all, it is fortunate for us that God calls saints those who embrace the humble path of justification by grace through faith in Christ alone (Eph. 1:1, 15). Incredibly, He not only calls us saints and imputes the righteousness of Christ to us (2 Cor. 5:21), but He uses us in every generation to build His kingdom.

All Saints Day is officially commemorated on November 1st each year, serving as an annual reminder that every follower of Christ is a part of something very, very big and... ancient.

According to one source, the tradition dates back to "about A.D. 610, when the Pantheon, turned into a Christian Church, was dedicated to to all saints. Its great idea is the Unity of Christians of all ages, countries, and races in Christ, and the perfection of that unity in heaven" (1662 Book of Common Prayer).

All Saints Day also reminds us to be thankful to God for His grace. It is only by His grace that anyone is able to get the gospel right. We pray to God, the giver of grace. We do not pray to the saints (Matt. 6:6), through the saints (1 Tim. 2:5) or for saints who have gone to glory (seeing that they're already in heaven and don't need our prayers). Rather, we remember the saints and to allow the memory of their faith spur us on to deeper worship and greater service to the Lord. Hebrews 11 gives us examples of the great cloud of witnesses who are called so, not because they are watching us, but because they testify of God's grace to them. The testimony of past saints resounds to us: "God is faithful." "The Lord is good, trust always in Him." "God's grace was sufficient for me and it will be for you too."

As the classic hymn "For All the Saints" was played during our local church's worship service this weekend, I reflected over the landscape of the past 2000 years of Christian history and pictured millions now enjoying their rest in the presence of the Lord as well as the thousands of believers here on earth—the final two stanzas conveying the unified thought of all of us saints, both in heaven and on earth:

But lo! there breaks a yet more glorious day;
The saints triumphant rise in bright array;
The King of glory passes on His way.
Alleluia, Alleluia!

From earth's wide bounds, from ocean's farthest coast,
Through gates of pearl streams in the countless host,
And singing to Father, Son and Holy Ghost:
