Thoughts of the Day w/ New Photo

"God's Beauty Lies Within The Details" copyright 2009 by Chadwick Yates

"People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily" ~ Zig Ziglar

From K-LOVE Radio:
Don't you love the way God inspires you when you feel completly defalted and overwhelmed! Thank you God for your Word and the hope that we find in reading it! I was reading Psalm 57 this morning... "I'm hiding out under your wings until the hurricane blows over. I call out to High God, the God who holds me together, He sends orders from Heaven and saves me." Do you have a verse that encourages you?

My thoughts today after watching one of my favorite shows and being fed more Hollywood propoganda:

My goodness ... the more I watch Hollywood nonsense, the more I realize Hollywood's ignorance. I thought there was supposed to be research done before they write their scrips, but they pretty much just write as they go and remain ignorant of truths. They wrote one of their actors speaking with Jesus, complaining that all he had done was his "Part" of some bargain being kept, and now it was your turn (Jesus Christ) to keep His "Part" of the bargain. A little research will reveal to any who seek the truth that Jesus gave EVERYTHING for each and every one of us. He did above and Beyond what any of us deserve and deserves RESPECT from all for the ultimate sacrifice He performed for our wickedness! Ironically, most of what this character did in the show as "his part" was compromised with wickedness, and thus he did not only "less than" but fell terribly short of "his part"! Go figure ... more proof of Hollywood's desire to justify their own sins!

Dealing with Contradictions 01b: 2nd Peter 1: all

2nd Peter 1: read all thru to the end ...

2Pe 1:1 From Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ. To everyone who shares with us in the privilege of believing that our God and Savior Jesus Christ will do what is just and fair.
2Pe 1:2 I pray that God will be kind to you and will let you live in perfect peace! May you keep learning more and more about God and our Lord Jesus.
2Pe 1:3 We have everything we need to live a life that pleases God. It was all given to us by God's own power, when we learned that he had invited us to share in his wonderful goodness.
2Pe 1:4 God made great and marvelous promises, so that his nature would become part of us. Then we could escape our evil desires and the corrupt influences of this world.
2Pe 1:5 Do your best to improve your faith. You can do this by adding goodness, understanding,
2Pe 1:6 self-control, patience, devotion to God,
2Pe 1:7 concern for others, and love.
2Pe 1:8 If you keep growing in this way, it will show that what you know about our Lord Jesus Christ has made your lives useful and meaningful.
2Pe 1:9 But if you don't grow, you are like someone who is nearsighted or blind, and you have forgotten that your past sins are forgiven.
2Pe 1:10 My friends, you must do all you can to show that God has really chosen and selected you. If you keep on doing this, you won't stumble and fall.
2Pe 1:11 Then our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will give you a glorious welcome into his kingdom that will last forever.
2Pe 1:12 You are holding firmly to the truth that you were given. But I am still going to remind you of these things.
2Pe 1:13 In fact, I think I should keep on reminding you until I leave this body.
2Pe 1:14 And our Lord Jesus Christ has already told me that I will soon leave it behind.
2Pe 1:15 That is why I am doing my best to make sure that each of you remembers all of this after I am gone.
2Pe 1:16 When we told you about the power and the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, we were not telling clever stories that someone had made up. But with our own eyes we saw his true greatness.
2Pe 1:17 God, our great and wonderful Father, truly honored him by saying, "This is my own dear Son, and I am pleased with him."
2Pe 1:18 We were there with Jesus on the holy mountain and heard this voice speak from heaven.
2Pe 1:19 All of this makes us even more certain that what the prophets said is true. So you should pay close attention to their message, as you would to a lamp shining in some dark place. You must keep on paying attention until daylight comes and the morning star rises in your hearts.
2Pe 1:20 But you need to realize that no one alone can understand any of the prophecies in the Scriptures.
2Pe 1:21 The prophets did not think these things up on their own, but they were guided by the Spirit of God.

Dealing With Contradictions 01a: Thoughts on The Bible

Here are some great thoughts I found regarding the Bible:

Scripture has everything you need to meet any and all situations of life so that you “may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:17). This is why you must study to show yourself approved unto God.
In other words, don’t neglect the process of application. But remember: Application must be based on correct observation and accurate interpretation of the Word of God.
Otherwise, you’ll slip into legalism, tradition that overrides truth or some aberrant
lifestyle that has an air of religion but is contrary to a correct relationship with God. The most effective application takes place as you go before the Lord and talk with Him about those things you have read, seen, heard and carefully studied.

As the Word of God, the Scriptures are, of course, the Word of God to man. But the Reformers repeatedly emphasize the truth that it is only through the grace of the internal operation of the Holy Spirit in heart and mind that the message of Scripture can be understood and appropriated. The Divine Spirit is both the author of Scripture and the interpreter of his own Word. “The scripture speaketh many things as the world speaketh,” William Tyndale, the honoured father of our English Bible instructs us; “but they may not be worldly understood, but ghostly and spiritually: yea, the Spirit of God only understandeth them; and where he is not, there is not the understanding of the scripture, but unfruitful disputing and brawling about words. The scripture saith, God seeth, God heareth, God smelleth, God walketh, God is with them, God is not with them, God is angry, God is pleased, God sendeth his Spirit, God taketh his Spirit away, and a thousand such like: and yet is none of them true after the worldly manner, and as the words sound.” After citing 1 Cor 2:11f and Rom 8:14 and 9, Tyndale proceeds: “Now ‘he that is of God heareth the word of God’ (John 8:1-7, and 43-47). And who is of God but he that hath the Spirit of God? Furthermore, saith he, ‘Ye hear it not because ye are not of God;’ that is, ye have no lust in the word of God, for ye understand it not; and that because his spirit is not in you. Forasmuch then as the scripture is nothing else but that which the Spirit of God hath spoken by the prophets and apostles, and cannot be understood but of the same Spirit, let every man pray to God to send him his Spirit.”

In answer to the objection that “the Scripture is not the voice of God, but the Word of God; that is, it does not proceed immediately from God, but is delivered mediately to others,” Whitaker offers this comment: “We confess that God hath not spoken by himself, but by others. Yet this does not diminish the authority of scripture. For God inspired the prophets with what they said, and made use of their mouths, tongues, and hands: the scripture, therefore, is even immediately the voice of God. The prophets and apostles were only the organs of God.” This assertion he supports by citing Heb 1:1-3 and 2nd Pet 1: All.

... back with more as I continue my study!
love, C'wick

Dealing with contradictions 01

I am starting a new study both to help myself and others who might be living the same problem. I looked up "Bible Contradictions" and found a well-thought out list of them that I would like to address. All of these will take getting beyond yourself ... prayer will help in that. Quite frankly, we must remember that God is Creator and sovereign and you simply must consider the source: this is God we're talking about, not man. Man is foolish and fallable- God is perfect and all-knowing. We simply are not going to "Get" Him. If you think that any human being can "Get" God outside the human Being that "WAS GOD" then you are far too egotistical to "GET IT" anyway. Come back when you have been humbled by life. For the rest, this is for those who are tired of listening to the same "drovel" coming from both sides of the fence. Next study will come from the "Religious" side, but for now this is about the doubters and unbelievers of the Holy Word, and for those like myself who are sick and tired of contradiction in the religious state of affairs.

Do not forget loved ones ... these are based on my spiritual walk, faith in God and advent prayer on this subject, so take it for what it's worth.

"Reverance"

They said this is a contradiction:

War or Peace?
EXO 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.

ROM 15:33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

I believe:

God is the Creator of all things, including War and Peace. Thus, He is Lord of war ... AND God of peace. Let's dive deeper:

God wants peace ... man wants war. God is a God of peace, but He is also a God of kept promises, one of those being allowing His human Creation to have free will. God is the author and Creator of both peace and war, but if you read the WHOLE Bible, His book of "why-whatwas-when-what'stocome" you'll know that His ultimate desire IS love and peace. But in this life He has created, His greatest creation cannot seem to get beyond itself - YES, US HUMANS thrive on power and glory and do not want to trust its Creator to take care of us. We can do it on our own, we believe, and most of the time that includes 2 things: war to get our way and rebellion against God to ... GET OUR WAY! If we choose war, that is a free will decision and God will allow this to happen because to stop it from happening would break His own promise and that would be self-destructive and unwise ... two things God is NOT! Furthermore, to stop us from committing our own free-will decisions to destroy one another would create a nation of drones, doing God's will, not ours, and there's no satisfaction in a bunch of puppets loving you because you SAY SO! God wants you to trust and obey Him because #1 He really does know what's best for you, and #2 because you love Him- TRULY love your Creator. So your obedience MUST be a freewill decision, not forced.

That said, let's look at the texts. That scripture in Exodus was a bunch of humans glorifying God as a butt-kicking God, ready and willing to protect His children should the enemy attack. This is a scripture of hope, man! Pharoah's armies wouldn't stop coming after God's chosen people, and God gave Egypt grace after grace after grace to "LET HIS PEOPLE GO", and Egypt and it's leader simply would not obey (sound familiar?), so God finally said "smack" and took them out, thus saving His people. So His people, in the heat of the moment, praised God pronouncing Him as a Lord of war, because when God goes to war - NOTHING IS LEFT STANDING THAT OPPOSES HIM OR HIS PEOPLE! If you oppose God, you have MUCH to worry about. But if you are His people, this is very comforting to know that although He is a God of peace, HE WILL KICK ROYAL TUSHY TO PROTECT HIS OWN!

RESPECT!

So here is the basic sum-up: God is God, and you are not. If you choose to oppose God and His chosen people, expect defeat and massive casualties. If you don't like this, perhaps you should reconsider what side you're on.

A personal side note of testimony ... when I was living on my own terms, life was a struggle and it seemed as though EVERYTHING was against me. When I allowed Christ into my life, a choice I made on my own mind you, everything has been just so wonderful. Life and its struggles (which are many, don't get me wrong) have been way beyond tolerable and moving into FANTASTIC because I do not face it alone any longer. I have the God of Creation covering me in all situations. You have NO IDEA how wonderful my life has become since making this very wise decision. It's unexplainable unless you try it for yourself.

New Art ... New Poetry

The Empty Glass by C’wick Yates

The glass sits on the table ...
empty except for a small still tear
that fell away from my eye and made its home
at the bottom of the hollow shell that once was a full glass of great joy.
The world was thirsty and selfish,
only interested in quenching its own desires ...
I smiled and allowed its thirst to be quenched at my expense,
and to show it how much I loved it,
I gave it me ... my tear ... my love …
as an example of how to fill the glass back up
so another may quench their thirst as well.
The glass still remains empty,
but my tear is there ... still there ... my essence of hope.
